The Red Rooster Performance (RRP) Vertex Pro is the high-performance slip-on exhaust specifically engineered for the liquid-cooled Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 (Sherpa 450).
Unlike the "Vertex" for the older 411 models, the Vertex Pro is designed to handle the significantly higher exhaust gas velocities and heat cycles of the 450cc DOHC engine.
Variant Codes & Finishes
-
RRPVPB (Black Matte): High-temperature ceramic black coating. It blends seamlessly with the Himalayan 450’s blacked-out chassis and engine.
-
RRPVPM (Matte/Brushed Silver): A satin, brushed stainless steel look. This is the "adventure standard" as it hides trail scuffs and mud stains much better than polished finishes.
-
RRPVPP (Polish Chrome): A mirror-finish chrome for riders who want to add a premium, reflective touch to their ADV.

Sound Character: The "Sherpa Growl"
The Himalayan 450 has a very different engine character than the 411; it’s more mechanical and rev-happy. The Vertex Pro is tuned to match this:
-
Deep Thump at Idle: Replaces the thin stock idle with a rich, authoritative bass note.
-
Aggressive Top-End: When you push the Sherpa 450 past $6,000$ RPM, the Vertex Pro delivers a "rally-spec" bark.
-
Touring Comfort: Designed with long-distance adventure in mind; it is tuned to minimize "drone" at highway cruising speeds ($100$–$110$ km/h).
Important Checklist for Himalayan 450 Owners
-
Direct Slip-on: No cutting or welding is required. It bolts directly to the stock collector box/header pipe.
-
No ECU Remap Required: The Himalayan 450's sophisticated ECU can automatically adjust to the improved flow of the Vertex Pro.
-
Pannier/Luggage Fit: The slim, tapered profile ensures it stays clear of most aftermarket saddle stays and the OEM Royal Enfield pannier racks.
-
DB Killer: Comes pre-installed. For daily commuting and long tours, it is recommended to keep it in. Removing it makes the bike significantly louder.
Tip: Pair this with a BMC High-Flow Air Filter (FM01166) specifically for the Himalayan 450 to fully unlock the "Stage 1" performance potential of the new Sherpa engine.
